Municipal Stakeholder Engagement in Smart Cities
Co-led Smart Cities Working Group in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Economic Development & Culture and Information Technology Divisions:
- Developed recommendations to the City of Toronto’s Chief Transformation Office as part of Choices for a Smarter Toronto: A Call for Collaborative Action report and designed annual Smart Cities Summits since 2017. These events brought together 650 city leaders from the private sector, government and academia
- Smart Cities Working Group hosts over 50 highly engaged members and advocates for reforms in procurement, data governance and IP protection in Canada’s Innovation Corridor
- Elevated Toronto Region’s profile globally by co-leading Smart Cities delegation to Barcelona
- Collaborated with Google’s Sidewalk Labs Toronto project to elevate the most critical issues including data privacy and protection. Co-authored BiblioTech report outlining solutions to privacy and data collection issues
